We help student-patients and their parents achieve and maintain normalcy.

Whether you’re supporting in- or out-patient children at your hospital, they’re facing a number of issues that might make education a challenge. For example, student-patients might not be feeling well, making it challenging to tutor or educate them. Or, schedules and demands might fluctuate, making it difficult for children, their parents, and your hospital staff to manage educational needs.

We understand that recovery is the number one priority, so our teachers are flexible and take responsibility for the education program.

"I have to say, I don't think I realized how the needs of the unit were not being met until after [the ei teacher] came and I figured out now that this is what it should be."

Metrowest Medical Center

Our Program for Hospitals and Clinics

We provide educational programs for student-patients for both in- and out-patient programs.

On a daily basis, a teacher will provide 1:1 bedside tutoring to your patients. This teacher completes all necessary paperwork and contacts schools to get educational services approved. The teacher will also contact your patients’ school for schoolwork. They make every effort to obtain the specific schoolwork for the student. If that is not available, they will provide ability/age appropriate curriculum. Their teacher will maintain communication as needed and return completed schoolwork through email.

Clinical Integration

Recovery is the number one priority, so our teachers are flexible and work around the treatment schedule.

For example, if a patient is getting testing done in the morning, then we can schedule school for the afternoon. Our teachers are trained to work bedside, around medical equipment, and to be aware of necessary precautions for the safety of the patients.

Hospital based instruction for student-patients

Education Program Set Up

  • 1. You sign Memorandum of Agreement
  • 2. We hire and train the teacher
  • 3. The program starts on the date you desire

In as little as 6 weeks from the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement, we will find, hire, and train a teacher specifically for your patients. Prior to implementation, we will conduct a meeting with your hospital or clinical staff to introduce our program and our staff so that patients, parents, staff, and everyone involved can transition smoothly.
